The $39 Wax add-on, explained

Wax is an optional finishing service for suitable painted surfaces. It adds a protective layer after cleaning and preparation; it does not replace the exterior wash or include every type of paint restoration.

$39 is the Wax add-on price. Your chosen detailing package is priced separately. Clay Bar Treatment and paint correction are different services.

For wash-led exterior care, choose our Exterior Detailing package and add Wax. If the cabin needs attention too, Full Interior & Exterior Detailing combines both areas in one visit.

Using the listed starting prices, Exterior at $159 plus Wax at $39 starts at $198; Full at $219 plus Wax starts at $258. Vehicle condition and additional selections can affect the final total.

Wax, clay or polish: choose by the problem

These treatments have different jobs. Match the service to what is on the paint and what you want to improve.

Good preparation gives the finish a better start

Cleaning removes loose dirt; inspection identifies what remains. A panel that still feels gritty after washing may need decontamination before protection, while visible defects call for a different decision.

Clay treatment is not automatically required for every car, and wax does not remove bonded grit. The useful order is to clean, assess the surface and select the appropriate preparation before the finishing layer.

Know the finish already on your vehicle

Matte or satin paint

Conventional gloss-enhancing wax is not a universal choice for matte paint. Use finish-specific care: Hyundai Motor Group's matte-paint guide explains how unsuitable products can create unwanted shine.

Vinyl wraps and paint protection film

Film care depends on the particular material and its manufacturer. A product suitable for glossy painted panels should not automatically be applied to a wrap, textured surface or film.

Existing ceramic coating

Follow the coating manufacturer's maintenance routine rather than automatically adding conventional wax. Coated surfaces may call for compatible washing and maintenance products instead.

How long does car wax last?

There is no single lifespan that fits every vehicle: product choice, paint condition, outdoor exposure and washing all matter. A vehicle parked outside and frequently washed with strong cleaners can need attention sooner than one kept under cover and gently maintained.

For background on preparation and ongoing care, Meguiar's paint-care FAQ distinguishes washing, clay treatment, defect correction and wax protection.

Make the next wash easier on the finish

  • Use an automotive shampoo appropriate for the surface; household detergents can strip protection.
  • Rinse away grit before contact washing and use clean, soft washing and drying materials.
  • Remove bird droppings and other contamination promptly using a suitable cleaning method, rather than rubbing a dry panel.

Wax helps maintain presentation, but it does not make paint immune to scratches, stains or neglect.

Two questions before choosing the extra

Will waxing remove scratches?

The Wax add-on is not a scratch-removal service. Addressing scratches, swirls or oxidation can require separate correction, and deeper damage may need repair beyond detailing.

How much time should I allow?

Wax adds work to your selected detail, and total time depends on vehicle condition, preparation and other extras. Package durations are estimates, not a fixed application time for every wax service.

If cloudy headlamp lenses are the concern, Headlight Restoration addresses that separate surface; applying paint wax is not a substitute.
